About Cory Bagby

Principal Attorney

Cory Bagby is the founder of Chosen Estate Planning, a Chicago-based firm focused on helping modern families create clear, inclusive estate plans that reflect their real lives.

His approach is grounded in clarity and structure. Rather than relying on one-size-fits-all solutions, Cory works with clients to build plans that account for how decisions will actually be carried out, who will step in, how responsibilities will be handled, and how to reduce confusion during difficult moments.

Before founding Chosen Estate Planning, Cory served in senior legal and executive roles within large healthcare organizations, advising leadership teams on governance, compliance, and complex decision-making. He earned his Juris Doctor from Loyola University Chicago School of Law, along with an Executive MBA from Quantic School of Business and Technology and a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Oklahoma.

That experience informs his ability to simplify complexity and design plans that work in practice, not just on paper.

He is particularly focused on serving blended families, LGBTQ+ individuals, and others whose needs are often overlooked by traditional estate planning models.

Cory’s work is driven by a straightforward conviction: that every family — in all the ways families are defined — deserves a plan that actually reflects their life. Not a default. Not a checkbox. A real plan.
